Pickering Green Festival ~ Muzic and Arts Night at Herongate Barn Theatre, August 12
Thank you for agreeing to be a part of the Pickering Green Festival ~ Muzic and Arts Night at Herongate Barn Theatre on August 12. We have 18 artists exhibiting and we are looking forward to a wonderful evening. The art show will take place inside the barn so inclement weather will not be a problem. Please feel free to forward the media release and send to your friends and clients.
Three exhibition areas – spaces will be allotted by draw on day of hanging:
• Downstairs in the dining area – room for nine artists including two sculptors.
• The large foyer before entering the theatre – remaining 10 artists here and in the area mentioned below.
• Entrance walls coming up the stairs and the area at the top.
Number and size of paintings:
• Each artist may bring three paintings, no larger than 36” x 40”.
Art Delivery  Dates – there will be helpers available:
• Friday, August 11 from 2 to 5 p.m.
• Saturday, August 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• Steve Graham (owner of Herongate) will supply chains, s-hooks and tools as well as hanging any work requiring a ladder – as well as 20 spotlights for dining area exhibit.
Pick-up
Saturday, August 12 after the show (probably around midnight).
Sunday, August 13 from noon to 2 p.m.
• If you are unable to stay with your work (5 p.m. to midnight on August 12) there will be a number of volunteers who will remain for the duration of the show.
Sales
• All sales will be handled by PRAC who will retain the usual 20% commission.
Please include this 20% along with any sales tax required (artist’s responsibility) into your selling price (eg if your work costs $200 + pst & gst ($30) + 20% ($40.) PRAC commission – price your work at $270. PRAC will collect $270 from the purchasor and issue you a cheque for $230. It is your responsibility to submit your taxes.
Artcards
• PRAC will supply all artcards. You can fill these out at time of hanging.
Publicity
• PRAC, Herongate, Environmental groups and The Gypsygrass Band are all arranging publicity (including flyers, local newspapers, signs, posters, radio stations and two websites: www.pineridgearts.org and www.PickeringGreenFestival.ca
• If you would like your bio and a photo of your work to appear on these websites, please send to PRAC webmistress Mary Cook at mary.cook@sympatico.ca
• Please let us know if you require additional event flyers for distribution in other shows or locations you feel will help promote the show.
